Blue sapphire is a composite of aluminum and oxygen. Due to small mixture with cobalt it becomes blue. It is also called Neelam. Blue sapphire found in Ceylon is the best, deep light colored and transparent. Blue sapphire/Neelam of deep color and transparence is found in Thailand and Australia. Blue sapphire shows its effects earlier than any other gem. It is proved effective to the wearer; it will destroy his diseases, faults, sorrows, poverty and increases his food grains, wealth, strength, glory, life span and off springs. It also restores the property which the wearer might have lost previous to the wearing of the blue sapphire. It should be taken off, if its color is changed or it is cracked because this is a warning to the wearer that he should change his gemstone. The inclusions are generally like 'feathers' or are like finger print impressions. Liquid inclusions looking like lace are also sometimes visible.
